spoiler installation - HELP!

To those who have done it yourself or who know how to: Can anyone give me measurements on where to place the spoiler? I only need placement measurements up and down on the trunk (not side to side - thats just centering). I couldnt find it using the search. HELP!!

There are two "bumps" on each side of the inside of the trunk lid where the holes should be drilled for the spoiler for a total of four bumps.

Dude, thanks. It took me 30 minutes to install the aftermarket replica (from spoilerdepot.com). The dealers offer of $80.00 to install was a rip off - to me at least.

When I get my chance..probably tomorrow. Honestly, its an EXACT replica...so it'll look no different than another black TL with a spoiler. The only difference is that mine doenst say Acura on the underside...otherwise you cant tell worth ****.

The aftermarket taillight is shorter than the OEM buy 1.5" But that is all. BTW drill the holes on one side of the trunk n measure the screw holes rather than drilling all four of the bumps at once.

I got my spoiler from spoilerdepot.com...it was an awesome deal. Also, don't forget new trunk torsion bars if you find that your trunk isn't "springing" open the way you like...

How high do your trunks open normally? I don't have a spoiler on mine and when i open it it only pops maybe an inch or so. I do eventually want to get a spoiler but i don't think the trunk would open at all with one on.

The trunk will open.....but it wont spring up. It's enough to get it out of the latch, but not enough to stick your fingers in and pull the trunk up

Your trunk should pop up 1 to 3 inches with the spoiler installed. If not then you will need some torsion bars. They come with the OEM spoiler. Look at this thread for more info.

If you buy an aftermarket spoiler, then you will have to buy the trunk torsion bars seperately. Do a search and you will find the part number for them and the part number for the tool to install them. I put them on and my trunk opens up almost all the way by itself.
