How did you get your car "tested" at 154ish/160 mph? And what do you mean by 154ish/160 mph??

Just go with the OEM, rather than the GTC spoiler. It's gay on our cars. But it's your car, your money. All I can do is offer my opinion.

Let me put it in simple terms:
You do not own a race car, therefore you don't need a wing that size.

If you have something like the Calsonic Skyline or D2-AMG CLK... okay maybe not that crazy, but say the NSX--then fine. But you drive a entry-performance family sedan, so why go for something so extravagant?

Btw, check out the Wings West Flush mount spoiler if you haven't already done so, it's pretty sweet.

please dont get that gt wing...

it's easy to do the clear led conversion. I didnt have a OEM spoiler but i've replaced one on my friend's prelude type R wing. Just unscrew the red leds and put the clear leds on. and a little bit wiring, believe that wont be a problem to you

yea, big spoilers aren't so nice on our car. I was thinking of just buying a $35 M5 spoiler of ebay, then painting myself

That spoiler is ugly. Stay with OEM. You'll have little drag with OEM.

I bought the M5 spoiler from ebay and installed it on my 2000 tl laguna green yesterday. When I received it, I was like WTF. It is longer than our trunk by half inch on each end and the curve doesn;t match cause the m5 spoiler is a straight line. So I tried to modify it with my limited knowledge. I want to post the pics , but don't know how, anybody can tell me?

I always wondered about that cuz by looking at the M% with the spoiler it looks longer than our trunk, but I noticed a lot of peeps on this site have that spoiler.
I like my mugen.

nice and clean.

But do you have to modify it? the length and the curve, cause the one i got need to bend and cut it a little bit to fit the trunk's curve.

BTW, you got any pics?
will post mine soon

in my opinion, i think the M5 Lip spoiler is a too dinky for our TL's rear. but its perfect for the CL! but it looks good on either nonetheless.

I also ordered the m5 e39 lip spoiler on ebay and it's too long, the same as summerlun, about a 1/2 inch on the ends. Should I cut the ends to make it fit on the trunk only, or leave it and have it hang over the edge abit??

That's the thread gave me an idea to install a trunk lip spoiler.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...934674769&rd=1

That's where I bought the spoiler from.

Javaman,

I had the same situation as you do a few days ago. I tried to put it on the trunk as the way it is , but I thought this is no good. I want to make it just fit. So, I decided to cut it short and file the curve. The most important thing is to bend it. First I hold the spoiler on the trunk and bend it to a desired curve, then my father put a piece of paper beneath the center of the spoiler to draw the outline of the curve. We use 2 hair dryers to heat the spoiler , blow it like 1 min then you can make the curve. and It took me 45 min to do the shape. The paint is easy no difficulty at all.

I will post the pics tonight.

I agree with the meaning of your comment, but I think extravagant is too strong a word to use. Anyone who mods their cars could be seen as being extravagant from another person's (non-modders) point of view. I think you meant to say "unique or unusual".
