spider spikes winter solution

Just bought some of those spider spikes things for those of you who are interested check back in a week and I'll tell you how good they work. Cost like 321 plus 15 shipping I believe, little pricey but the guy says they work better than chains or cables which we can't use on our car. You can check their website out http://www.spikes-spider.com/ but the prices are a little bit lower as the guy told me he has to update the prices. The way they work is they have a hub that clibs onto the lug nuts and then you just hook on the spider spikes in like a couple of minutes when you get to the snow. I'm pretty stoked as I was just about to spend 600 bucks on new tires and wheels not to mention I would probably have to pay to have them put on and taken off all the time, major hassle. I'm probably going up this weekend so I'll tell you how they go. Not supposed to touch your wheel at all.

I just checked out their site. Im a little skeptical that they are not going to scratch the rims. I know they are not supposed to touch the rim but im curious to see what happens in the 'real world'.
Plus, you cant go over 30 mph so they really wouldnt benefit me.
Good luck with them and let us know how they work.

You know somebody is going to be getting an a$$ whooping if they scratch my rims . With chains or cables you can't go over 30 either so I figure this is my best bet and they are only for when they stop me in the mountains on the way up to skiing.

Dan,

How did the spider spikes work out for you? I'm considering buying a set for myself but there's very little information out there. Thanks.
