Spark plugs
Spark plugs
Hello there im pretty new driver got an 03 tl S with 94 k on it got a couple questions
how do i get to the back 3 spark plugs ? do i need to lift the car?
2. The tranny was redone about 20 000 ago and im just wondering if its normal to feel a little kick back when it shifts from 1st to s econd gear (its 5 speed auto)
thanks to whoever replys

Do the rear plugs from above, you'll have to lay over the engine. It's not too bad. The Passenger side rear one is a little hard to do, just take your time. Not sure about the tranny.
check the DIY section for more on plugs
Use NGK Iridium or NGK Platinum plugs, and a very small amount of plug anti sieze on the middle of the new plugs threads
A 3 and 6 inch extension work perfect to slide down into the plug recess and reach the plug-you need the smaller piece to get past angle limitations. put plug socket with short extension and lower in, add long extension then ratchet
Get a 1 foot length of vac hose to fit over the top of the new plug...use to lower it in place and start the threads by hand
Some remove the strut cross bar for better room- but the 2 part, 9 inch total length extension is the trick

I just changed out my brakes today to Brembo blakes and EBC greenstuff pads, but now I need to change my plugs. My current one are 107k miles old. How tight do the plugs need to be? What is the torque spec for plugs?
yes always use a correct spark plug socket with a magnet or rubber piece inside, makes life easy
I use the vac hose method for new plug to lower in place and start a few threads of install--- so I know for sure they are in correctly before applying any torque from a tool
