Cool Spare engine block....

I stopped by the dealership today to pick up a few things....

1. J30 block that has low compression
2. J32 block involved in an auto accident

The J30 is in good condition but needs rebuilding.
The J32 block has damage to where the water pump bolts up to it. The motor is a 02' w/ 2500 miles on it. I'm checking right now to see if the crank, pistons and rods from this will work in the J30 block with minor honing to the cylinder walls......

If anyone needs a motor or knows if the only difference between the J32 and the J30 is the stroke let me know, I think the bore is the same but the rod length is different.........

The J30 is 86.0 x 86.0 while the J32 is 89.0 x 86.0. Obviously, the pistons would be different then. I'm not sure about the rods -- they could be the same (or very similar) as they have the same stroke. Unless of course the piston pin is in a different place in each of the respective pistons, then their lengths might be different as well.

Not sure about any physical differences between the actual blocks themselves.

What's wrong with the J30 that it needs rebuilding... and how would I go about acquiring a motor like this for the same (or similar) price??

J30 rings are bad....

I'm going to bore out the J30 and put the J32 internals in it.

Now, as for acquiring something for the same $$, that's a secret......
