Sooooo pissed off
Some ass hit the rear driver side door of my car in a parking lot. I came out, saw it, cussed a few words and was ready to kick someones butt. It seems that someone was trying to cut in between parking lanes and hit the door. Nobody stopped the guy...nobody left a license plate number....HIT AND RUN!!!
Sigh...now i got to take it to the dealer to get it fixed up. It won't be the same.....i will forever know what happen to that door.
Sorry for the complaining...just wanted to vent........alksjf;lsdkajo;wefa md

Could always be worse. I had a brand new Toyoya Supra and while pulling into an angled parking space the Lincoln Towncar in front of me decided HE should not have passed up on that space, threw the Lincoln into reverse and floored it crushing the driver's door and almost killing me. When I got out of the car he kept saying how sorry he was and I told him get away from me or "I WILL KILL YOU ! ! !"
The police cited him and my fabulous Supra was never the same.
That assh_ole ! ! !

Parking lot mayhem
Sorry to hear about your accident.
When my 87 325is was two months old, my wife parked it at work, in a diagonal parking lot, with concrete stops. Some little old lady, parking at a right angle and to the right of us, hit the accelerator instead of the brake, with a $2,200 result, and a car that was never the same again...

Extremely sorry about your car! That totally sucks. That is one of the things I am terrified of. My previous car (Infiniti Q45) had the same string of bad times:
Last September this dingy blonde runs a red light and turns right into the front end of my car........$8K+ in damages. Then, 3 days after getting it out of the body shop....some old lady in a land yacht parks next to my car. Well she hits the back qtr. panel, then backs up another 3 times to try and straighten out......each time re-hitting the same area! Then, this June the car just got flooded...and finally totalled.
Hopefully your damage is on a part that doesn't comprimise the integrity of the structure. Does the Acura dealer you purchased at have a body shop? If not, maybe they can refer someone. If not, my Infinit was fixed at a place calles Maszaros. They do all work on imports (West Houston Infinit refers them)...and they offer a lifetime guarantee on their work. Frank (the owner), can be a bit of a butt, so you have to be firm....but they do good work.
No dings on my black beauty yet........but I'm realistic that it will be soon
Hope it works out for ya.

Sorry to heard that. But this actually happened to me also when I just had the car for 3 weeks. I went to a movie theater on a Saturday night and when I about to leave realized someone hit my front driver side fender. The fender, bumper and headlight housing were damaged. Well... cost me $1500 and 1.5 weeks to fix it. (replace a new fender, a new headlight cover and repair the bumper.)
Geee.... why there are so many a$$hole out there don't know how to drive/park? And why they are all live around my area???

Thanks everybody for the replies. I got my estimate today....$990
I looked at the estimate and it charges me 8.8 hours @ $38/per hour for paint supplies. I was like wtf...the damage is not that servre and for painting supplies? BTW i got the estimate at Sunshine or Sunrise (can't remember the name now) bodyshop referred by Acura Southwest. I think i am getting way ripped off... also charging me 10 hrs for painting...i don't think i takes 10 hrs to paint a rear door...a quarter of the front door and quarter of rear panel to match the color in. Anybody in Houston can refer me to a good bodyshop that does not rip people off. Anybody know how well John Eagles Body shop is? I got my car there but i been hearing that they charge more then other Acura dealers in the area. I will check out that shop TL4mo thanks.

Yeah, as long as you don't have too many "not at fault" accidents they won't raise your rates. I guess it all depends on how much your deductible is. But I wouldn't look to go too bargain-basement on the repairs. These cars have a pretty sophisticated paint job, and it DOES take a lot of labor time to strip them, prep them, paint them, clear coat them, and bake them properly. You've got a great almost-new car there; wouldn't you hate it if you saved a couple hundred bucks but the color didn't quite match or faded in a couple of years or just didn't look right somehow...
I got a new quote from my friend's friend who owns a body shop. Basically he will charge me $387 because of my friend. He told me that the $990 job included alot of hidden charges.. such as making profit off of the parts. Thanks a bunch guys.
Well.. I'm not sure about you guys, but when I got that "hit and run" sh!t; my insurance said they will pay for it BUT.... my insurance fee will goes up 30% per year for the next 3 years. After I did a little math, turns out NO WAY!!! I would rather to pay it by my own.
That sucks...
That sucks...
I was thinking about using insurance to pay for the damage....but my insurance rate is cheap already so i don't want to increase it. I am 21yrs old, have full coverage insurance through Progressive at only $620 for six months. To me that is one hell of a deal for my age and living in Houston. Thanks for the thought though.
