Someone wants to trade his CL-S 6spd for my TL

went to garage today to install my b-pipe and there's a guy who drives a SSM CL-S 6 spd looked at my car and he likes it a lot

then he asked me if i want to sell my car to him and take over his lease on the CL-S 6spd

he wants to have a 4 door automatic and he loves my car, and his CL-S is so new with only 35000km on top, while i have 70000km on my 02 TL

the lease remaining on his car is about 24 months left and 580CAD a month tax in.

his car is great since it's a 6-spd which i really want to get a stick to drive, but i doubt that i really want to trade for now coz....i have spent too much on my TL for the past year and now i have to put it back into stock (waste of $$), and he wants the car stock, not lowered anything

i can probably put all the comptech stuff into the CL-S but i realized the comptech headers and icebox DOES NOT FIT into the 6-spd

and one more problem is his 6spd is a SSM, which my anthracite looks better with my gunmetal rims

however he says he will be still interested if i gonna sell my car next year, which i am planning to do so.

so if you are me, would you keep the TL for now? or swap for the CL-S and take over the cheap lease?

or sell the TL next year and go for the G35 6MT?

so your going to trade your car that is possibly paid for, or your paying for, to pay this guys payments?

Tell him do an even trade, your car for his no payments then I would say yes....
Any other way...NO

my car paid with cash when i bought it new, and now has about roughly 20-22k CAD value

he wants to buy my car, and find somebody to take over his lease, not just me, but anyone

then i can go for a new car

Let's see here. You're going to give him your car with a value of 20-22k dollars, for a leased car that you won't even own in the end? And make the payments on it?

So tell me how that's not any better than taking over his lease, and giving him 20-22k dollars for free?

Makes absolutely no sense. Plain and simple, you will be basically giving him 20-22k dollars as an acquisition fee. Acura owns his CL-S, and he's basically renting it. You're taking over the rest of the rental term and make the payments, but give him 20-22k dollars? No way, Jose.

he will pay me 20k dollars for the car as of the sale, then i have to find someone to take over the remainder of the lease...

wait i still dont get it...he buys ur car for 20k, that itself is a good deal, i'd be lucky to get 12k for my TL

and then u just find someone to take the CL and the lease and get urself a new car? That sounds like a good deal to me...so ud get a new car now or keep the CL for now and then get a new car?

that sounds pretty good but if ur planning on getting a G35 next year...298hp to 260hp, yeaaaaa...jus stick with the TL for now, i'm sure he can find another way to get a nice TL

id hate to c u go as a TL'er cuz u have one of nicest ones on here but it sounds good to me
20k CAD, which is around 16k USD

yea that's how it works, he wants to buy my car, but need someone to take his lease

my car is approaching 60k miles next year and i will have to sell it b4 the price drops quickly

i still cannot decide on my new car yet, but G35 6MT is my 1st choice, while the TL 6spd and IS350 comes afterwards

the new TL is not any better than my TL in look, and the IS350 would be out of my budget, so if the insurance rate is fine, i will go for the G35 coupe

if nth works out i might just sell the car and take his lease to get some fun from the CLS 6spd
