someone rubbed aggainst my bumper!
today i noticed that my bumper had been rubbed by another bumper...(i think)
it looks more like a circle...it about the size of the tip of a pencil eraser..it's pretty small but u really see the hole/scratch on my bumper cuz i have naples gold..so it sticks out a lot..
so anyway if i wanted to fix it ...i can just get some touch-up paint and slap it on right? or do i have to sand it first...or..um..do i have to change the bumper
BTW...how could another bumber rub so that it leaves a circular scratch instead of a smuge or scratch...hrm..odd....

yea just use some touchup paint, i wouldnt spend alot of money getting it repainted, although you can get your bumper repainted at a quality bodyshop for around $250, but if there are plastic pieces sticking out, just pull them off with your finger, and if there are little pieces that are sticking out and you cant get it with your fingers, I'd say, hole punch a sand paper, and glue the little circular sandpaper you punched out on the end of a pencil eraser, then lightly sand it, with about a 500-600 grit sandpaper, then clean it out with rubbing alcohol for a good clean surface so that the touchup paint can adhere well, then lightly apply the paint, wait about 10 minutes, and apply a second coat, there your done...cant believe i typed all that!?!??!!?!?

Welcome to the club. I had the same thing happen to me and I decided, it was better to live with that than to have it repainted.
Here's why:
- Why pay 300 or so to have it repainted?
- If you do, you risk the paint peeling or cracking or chipping.
- In a couple of years, it might fade.
I would not mind shelling out the money to fix it but I dont want to deal with those chances.

sorry to hear bout that, but i can bet you about, half the time you see black mark or some type of scratch on it, it can be cleaned off, i use spray nine, and it will remove scuff marks, or whatever that got rubbed into it. you should rub it really hard, if nothing happens then it is a scratch. always happens to me too, it looks like a scratch or scrape mark, but later on when i start cleaning the car with spray nine, it seems to remove it very well. maybe a smaller scratch will be revealed. but better than nothing!

first off i own an autobody shop in
toronto ontario the first thing u should
do is have a closer look at the scratch
and try to see if its only paint from the
other car,if it is u can use a rubbing
compond on it your use a buffing pad on
a polisher,u can also use a degreaser to
wipe it off and it won't harm the clear
coat.if it is scratched through it'll
run u $150-200 canadian dollars,to have it
fixed right and will not peel, crack, fade
or chip.
