Will resonating tips quiet the sound during acceleration or only when cruising?

I am looking at getting super turbo mufflers and leaving my stock resonators in place. I want the system to give a good roar under acceleration but be quiet when cruising. Any input is greatly appreciated.

 

If you are talking about the 3A racing tips......they are only for looks. Do nothing to the sound or the performance. Anything you add after the muffler is looks only........

 

try installing a cherry bomb between the cat and the muffler. i had the same prob w/ 96 2.5.......it helped a little on the low-end but did wonders for the high-end. cherry bomb products are fairly common......try checkers, sears...ect......aloha.....
