Someone please help!! 03 acura tl type S engine noise
I have an 03 acura tl type s with 83k miles. Car has never had issues. Just recently i kept it in 2nd gear and high rpms going up a hill driving fast. After, now, it still runs but theres a horrible noise coming from the engine. My mechanic didnt get into it but just heard it and said i need a new engine. Can someone help me and tell me if they know what exactly the problem is and if i really need a new engine ? I have a video of the sound

Assume you trust you mechanic? don't think he'd lie to you about a blown engine. i'm not an expert with engines. but logically thinking, if you don't shift gears (holding 2nd) and redline high RPMS up a hill something is bound to break inside the engine. problem is probably a gear that is shredded inside.

where's the video? ![Scratch](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/scratch.gif)
could just be valves out of spec

To OP...
That sounds a lot like a Timing Belt Tensioner FAILURE, I will advise you to get it check ASAP! If the timing belt fails its bye bye to the engine.
Here are the fixed links:

I can't make out if it's a knocking or a flipity flap type noise. But it does sound like what Skirmich says. I'd at least check if timing belt is loose, take a cover off or something
Visual of what it could be doing, with sound. Belt comes off or breaks and ya.. probably will need a new engine... I probably wouldn't run the car anymore until you atleast check this out.

I do not think it is a rod as it should make noise at IDLE..
When the tensioner fails it usually starts up good with no noise but as RPM Climb the Tensioner cannot keep up and starts to create a gap which then makes the noise, When you let go the gas the tensioner starts to work good and thus why it makes no noise again.
I will advise you to STOP Moving the car, if the timing belt jumps it will destroy your valve train..
Take your time and remove the timing belt covers and look for movement in the timing belt tensioner, This is how a bad one looks like:
