I don't think you have anything to worry about. A stock Accord V6 and Stock Solara V6 (Auto) run pretty much neck and neck 0-60 and 1/4 mile. Now if its a 5speed with a good driver they should win.

Blown the doors off the toyota solara. It has a little pickup but it doesn't hold its own.

The 1999 Toyota Camry Solara SE V6 5 speed manual has a 0-60 time of 7.1 seconds and a 1/4 mile time of 15.6 seconds. The 1999 TL has a 0-60 time of 7.4 seconds and a 1/4 mile time of 15.7 seconds. The 2000 TL has a 0-60 time of 6.7 seconds and a 1/4 mile time of 15.2 seconds. All times are from Motor Trend.

There are 3 stages of TRD Solara's. Stage 1 is the base pkg, 242hp, 0-60 in 6.3 sec. The stage 3 is a little over 260hp and will do mid 5's. A good driver in any TRD Solara should be able to take a CL-S.

Comptech, if you're reading this... GET BACK TO WORK and make sure that J-series supercharger fits the CL-S

I don't like Solara's at all. Ugly interior and nothing particularily nice about the exterior. I can't imagine anyone choosing it over the Accord 2dr or the CL.

Don't worry. Go whoop his ass I had a race with two Solara V6's at once and I won easy. I actually expected more from the Solara. It is a good looking car though.

Thumbs down

Out of all the Toyota's, the Solara was the first one that I almost liked, considering I puke at all the others. As for taking one on, they are only 200hp, 205 lb/ft so it shouldn't be a fight for the TL, it's an exact match for the v6 Accord.

The mags wrote it up as: They are neck and neck in a straight line, till the twisties, where the Accord eats it for b'fast, lunch, and dinner. Nothing compares to the Accord Coupe suspension setup (stock for stock) in it's class.

And I will say.. I have a 98 coupe.. it handles for pure enjoyment.. I love 90mph turns..

I wouldn't worry about manual Solara's....no one buys them, especially girls. Blonds might, you'll know the ones owned by blonds because the shift knob will be wet

When I'm in the TL I'm afraid I'll meet a 5-speed maxima (2000+), but I hardly do.

When I'm in my '92 Maxima (auto ), I'm afraid I'll meet a 3rd gen maxima with manual, but that never happens.

Therefore, don't sweat the Solara, just give the ***** driving it the finger, and pass.

This will change come next year when Comptech finishings making a Supercharger for the Accord/TL/AND CL-S. The supercharger could boost power 50-80 HP. I can't wait, I'll finally be able to whip my co-workers Solara with ease .

Damn...I knew our cars were fast, but I didn;t realize we were near mid sixes for 0-60. Does that mean we could hit 0-60 in the fives with headers, exhaust & CAI?

HAHA! Looks like you and I have something in common!

Solara V6 auto is no problem for the TL. One actually tried to race me when I had my mods and I beat him, but it was a good race. This damn Solara had body kit and a TRD sticker (it wasn't a ricey sticker). I got to admit he beat me 0-30 and 30 on I was passing him. I think he had stick too, but I still came out on top!

With all my mods and my 18's I think I was in the high 5's for 0-60! and mid 14's for quarter.

The other car in my driveway is a 99 Solara SLE V6 (my fiance's). I disagree with those of you that say it is an ugly car. It is a little unrefined but the TRD Solara is a beast and a really nice looking rig. Performance wise, my 01 TL with mods eats my fiance's stock Solara up.

Man that solara with the kit is pretty nice looking. A friend of mine has the solara, the only thing I like about the Toyota is that it has a really quiet interior and a very silky smooth tranny. Other than that, my TL wins hands down.

The Solara's interior got to go. The holes in leather is so ugly, its was one of reasons why I didn't purchased it. Thank god I got myself a TL, not only does it look better inside and out, also it'll smoke a V6 solara anyday. (Done that every times already with ease)
