I am a '00 and dont have any sound when locking/unlocking the car, all I hear is the door locking. I would love to have a soft beep because they are a few times that I am not sure if I locked it or not.

Whoever said it - yes. The 2000's and up have the beep. My old '99 utilized the horn for lock confirmation. My 02 has the beep. I think it's just a box that the switch is wired to rather than the horn. Maybe someone that has a helms manual can look up the wiring diagram.

Happen to me before when this shop I go to uses the key instead of remote to open up the door which deactivates the alarm when you turn the key left in the key slot.

on the back of your remote it should say mem 1 or mem 2.. that indicates what memory seat you have. i.e when you unlock the car with the remote mem1, and open the driver door, the seat will adjust to the programed seat mem1 position. to set this up .. i think its something like holding down both the lock and unlock button for about 5 secs. doing that again will disable it. about the beep with the remote it has something familiar to do with those steps. maybe someone else can chime in.
