on a side note. I also have a TL (although mine is a type-S) on its third tranny. Although I enjoyed my 325i inmensley, there is NO WAY I am going back to BMW now. My next car will be an S2000 or another TL.
I love you how talk like the TYpe S is a woo'er

I've had a TL-S since i was 16 I can't wait tilL i get my m3.

BMW m3 That is.

I haven't heard of many 3 series with troubles here. Consumer reports doesnt test one car they don't get cherry picked cars either.

Don't use consumer reports, prefer personal experience. Wait until the little things get you. Buttons breaking, small leaks, clips breaking and so on. It all adds up, especially with pricey Beemer parts. Even more so for the M3. It's a fun car to drive, but maintenance will soon catch up.

Also, I would go for an e36 rather than an e46, but thats my preference. Enjoy the Beemer once you have it.

I think you have a better opportunity with the TL. I think you mentioned kids. I believe the TL is roomier. A better overall car in my opinion. Plus it has lower mileage and the tranny is covered up to 100k and you're only almost halfway there with that. The Bimer has higher mileage and I don't think will treat you as nicely, nor be maintained as cheaply.

Meh. Say what you want, personal preference is just that. I'm done with arguing. I still say the TL-S is a better buy at this time for the thread starter.
