So when do you need a VFAC?

From what I understand there's no point in getting a VAFC if you don't have any mods, as acura already tuned the fuel / air mix and vtec, but when does it make sense to get it? I'm sure if you had a supercharger, but what about CAI, or CAI and headers?

when youve got headers, intake, and exhaust. Its pointless if you dont have any mods on your engine

its also fairly pointless to have one unless you get it tuned by someone who knows what there doing.

even with intake, headers, and exhaust you really don't need it. you really can't get the result unless you have some sort of forced air induction system and have it tuned on dyno...adjust the air fuel ratio... but some ppl say they got few hp increases from just tuning it without any turbo, SC, or nitrous. i might get it installed in the sunglass holder just for the looks..hehe

To me VFAC is good for looks mostly. Unless you have the time, experience and equipment to tune it, it is just a fancy display

IMHO, I think that it would be useful with the basic bolt-ons. With the ability to expel more exhaust gases quicker from your headers and exhaust, you are able to run more fuel and more air from your intake. Also, Acura has the a/f ratio and vtec engagement point set at a very safe level. I think that we can run a little richer and drop the vtec engagement point for more power and still maintain the well being of our motors. But this is just me.
