So I think my 2nd tranny is about to go out, what are my options?

I have a 02TLS with 176K miles on it. I had the first tranny replaced under warranty at 100K and the second tranny is acting funny shifting to 3rd gear at about 35-40mph.

I'm pretty sure this is the beginning of the end. I really dont feel like buying a new car right now, so I was wondering what my options are as far as switching this tranny out. I've heard some people say Honda Accord, and some say Odyssey.

Do I go to a place the specializes in transmissions and ask for a rebuilt?

You can get either a used tranny from an 03-05 odyssey I beleive or an 06-07 accord v6 from a junkyard for 1000$ or less than like 500$ to install unless you do it yourself. So far it has been working better and cheaper than getting your tranny rebuilt.

junkyard not rebuilt
lower miles newer trans oddy or accord is the way to go
some wreckers will even do the swap for you
or a small private shop or racer speed shop does hondas a good way to go
ask kids in lowered hondas that have a tow hook added on back of car,,easy to spot
they race and blow motors
