Post slight cracking of leather on drivers seat

On my seatback on the left side of the drivers seat I have a thin 5 inch crack/peel of the leather. It is not terrible but the car is 4 months old and I feel like it should not have happened. While having my wheel caps fixed today the dealer looked at it and said it was normal wear and tear but he agreed to replace the skin for me which was nice of him. It probably happened from getting in and out and rubbing but after only 4 months I was not happy. I may have been too picky but I figured I should at least give it a try. Anyone have a similar problem? My dealer is Island Acura on L.I. and they seem pretty friendly and helpful.

I had a leather tear too. The dealership replaced the skin! All better now!

Five inch crack on a four month old TL? You have to wonder if the leather is where Acura is skimping to get the price where it is for our car. In any event, Mstyle had a similar problem recently, and his dealer told him it was normal wear and tear. Good to hear that your dealer fessed up to it, and didn't try to blame you for it.

Dang, 4 months old! Even it was 4 years old I'd take it back as long as it is under warranty and complain, they should replace the seat skin for no charge. It's been done for '99 owners on here, so a '00 or '01 should have no problem at all.
