slight clicking sound when turning the steering wheels.
It is more evident when I start up the car and steer the wheels. I am pretty sure it is not axle because the sound is not coming from underneath but rather from the direction of instrument panels.
Does anybody have any idea? Thanks!

Check your lower ball joints. Looks like it's time to replace them before they break on you. I had a lex gs400 and it had clicking sound every time I turn the wheel or sometime when it goes over bumpy road. Unfortunately, my wife drove the car one day and the lower ball joint on the driver side broke off. It f*** up the whole driver side, front suspension, fender, door couldn't open, rocker panel....man the list goes on. Insurance company totalled it.
SO, check your lower ball joint and replace them when you get a chance.

are you stopped and turning the wheels- thats hard on the pump and rack!
are you moving forward slowly with the wheel cranked full- click click click
thats cv
there is a cv bearing at the trans end of each shaft too, so it can sound like dash

the sound comes when stopped or moving i dont believe it is CV, if it is CV, then it sounds only during when I am accelerating not cruising.
