Just find a single exhaust that'll fit a 99-01 v-6 Accord. It should work, IMO I think it looks classier with two.

well, i look at things from the performance side. i have a question for you: the apex v-afc, did it help at all, did u put this on as your first mod? if so does it help without any other mods? my aunt just bought a TL today, and it might go to my cousin (her son) if it does, im thinking we might get motec or haltech stand-alone engine management, which than will be fully adjustable to our mods and will work like a charm=]

yes, there will be a bit of a performance gain, but it will look funny since the bumper skin has dual exhaust cutouts.

True Duals? Most V8's, Like Vettes, S500's etc.

The whole bank of cylinders has its own 4-2-1 header, and they never exchange gasses with the other bank of cylinders exhaust. So you have two cat's two b-pipes, two mufflers. No Y pipe.

I actually suggested the Single Exhaust conversion about a month or so ago, and it got wildly shot down. I'm still for it though. Generally, more sporty cars have Single's, IE, 330Ci, IS300... while the more sedate one's have duals, S500, LS400...

Of course minor body work would have to fill up the other notch in the bumper, but that's no big deal.

Also, you can generally get away with a bigger single tip than two big ones. What I mean to say is that if you had One 3.75" tip, it'd look better than say two 3.25-3.5" tips. Duals IMO generally have to be small to be classy/acceptable.

Question

The dual exhaust is one of the things that I love about my TL, I don't see why people would want to get rid of it just to save a little weight. To each their own though.

i love dual also, but the thing is it seperates after the cat and has no use. acura did it just for the looks, which to most people is appealing and they dont care about performance sacrifices. but i prefer single on something like that.

Hmmm 20lbs? That maybe worth it... that's like before and after Todai. Even if you gain 20 lbs from eating all that food at Todai, you still have power to spare!! *lol*

Had anyone try this yet? I'm thinking shedding 20 lbs might be worth a try.

And now that I think about it, although duals would look nice, a single exhaust won't look too bad either. I'm picturing AC's ride with the Greddy on the right side only. Can someone help me photoshop it?? Tann??

I love the look of my stainless dual Comptechs. And if you want to shed a little weight - they are much smaller & lighter than the huge stock mufflers.

I read an interview with an engineer/designer who did the current TLs, and he said he had to pull a lot of strings to get the dual exhaust in the first place. He was very propd that the TL had dual exhaust.

I'm sure that there are folks that wish their Civic had dual tips. M5 has 2 tips on each side...

I'm very up for the dual exhaust. If you worry so much over 20 lb, loose the weight yourself. 20lb really doesnt do that much.

my cousin and i do not really want to go with duals. the reason being, it's not a true dual exhaust system. the TL weighs alot, we are trying to reduce weight, and every pound counts. as for the wheels, 1lb of unsprung weight = 20lbs sprung.

Sounds like just another jealous IS starting something to me. Maybe the IS's should consider that their car looks more like a video game than a car.

Good grief, okay, that exhaust is a little oversize, how about a 3.5" tip like the Comptech's? that would look good. 3.5" to 3.75" single would look pretty good to me.

A single exhaust would probably be louder too since you don't have as much sound absorbtion material.

that will just depend on muffler size which decides the amount of dampening.

I apologise for the poor quality.
1. I was sleepy
2. I'm no Tanner (I got no skillz).

The size of the tip... well, that's a Greddy Evo (I think). Any greddy tips would be huge by its definition.

Loudness... well, once again, it's a GREDDY! What more do you want to hear other than noise!?

So, what's the verdict? Nay?? Maybe it's the "tinted" tail lightst that you guys don't like...
