Silverstars bulbs vs......

These definitely don't look as much like HID as they were touted. I guess that's what I should expect for $15 a bulb.

These are 4000K 65W bulbs. The PIAA are also 4000K.

Are there any other bulbs that come closer to matching the look of our HID low beam?

Nothing will ever match a HID! The silverstars look much better then the factory bulbs. If you want something to match a HID...then you must buy HIDs

I think the SilverStars match the HIDs quite well at night. The SilverStars won't match well when you first turn on the HIDs. After about a minute, they match pretty well. I'm thinking about getting the PIAA Xtreme White after my SilverStars burn out. Anybody used the Xtreme Whites before? How are they?

When I say "match" I mean colorwise...not brightness. I know nothing compares to them in that arena.

Colorwise, they do match pretty well from a distance like 10 feet away or so. Up close, the HIDs are clearly whiter than the SilverStars. From a side view, the SilverStars look a bit yellow and the color temp seems to be on the warm side compared to the HID...

I had the PIAA Xtreme Whites before I got my HID, and I was sadly disappointed with them, especially for the price. The light output looks nothing like HID and they are actually dimmer than stock.......I'd recommend silverstars over PIAA anyday, especially for the price difference.

Thanks for the info. You did a really good job of comparing those bulbs for us.

I think I'll just keep the Siverstars until they croak for now. Hell, I got the high beams and fogs for a grand total of $60. Hard to complain about that!

Thanks again for your post!

razo's supposedly 'match' the best with the HIDs but i wouldn't pay such a high price. i'm happy with my eaglite fogs, so i may get them for my DRL/highs as well.

what do you think would match better, the razo premium white zeros or the regular premium whites?
