Silver Bottom CDRs?

Hi,

In my continuing research to find out which cdr would work.. I wanted to try out the Silver Bottom (recording surface -silver) for the final.

This is because , I observed that all the original CDs have a pure silver bottom as opposed to blue/gree/gold//etc..

Can anyone tell me where can I buy a CDR with a Silber bottom(recording) surface.

PS. I have tried the black bottom memorex ..works fine until I try to skip to another track.

You can't. Those CD's aren't burned in the same way as a CD-R. They are pressed like a license plate.

Mods: Post should be closed. Doesn't belong on this board.

it doesnt matter what color, its the manufacturing process of the blank media and who makes them. (the same place doesnt make them for the same place every time/batch) you either get lucky or you dont when you purchase a spindle of them. it just comes down to the HU not likeing to read CD-R's

instead of buying a bunch of different cd-r's and wasting all that time and money you could just go on Ebay and buy a 02-03 6-cdchanger for 150. then you can just replace your whole HU easily, since its all straight forward plug and play. its easy as that.

The closest thing you can get is this or the ones from here

But to be honest, these aren't "pure" silver/silver. Its a really really small amount of dye. In addition, what ends up happening is the silver on top is the actual reflective surface that is used to read the bottom of the disc so if you scratch the top (which is extremely easy), your cd is unusable. I would not buy these ... again

I've always had great results with Memorex, Maxell, and Imation (OG ) media. Also as a side, if you decide to put a cd-r label on it, it will get stuck (well this is true for the 6-disc indash units )

Good luck
