Silblades or no?

I know this topic is a discussed one too, i did searches on mulitple forums and am confused as to what to do.

Some people rant and rave about the sil blades and some people say its not worth it and say its no different then ne of the blades that PEP BOYS sells. I mean... I know they are silicone based and all, but I can't stand the streaking that I get right now with my OEM wipers and want to change them.. what should I go with? Should I get the Sil Blades or just get Silicone Blades at PEPBOYS for less? This would be a perfect time to change them, as we all know this is the season for tremondous rain. Advise please.

I got Silblades several months ago. They are better than OEM, but not perfect. On the other hand, my windshield is almost three years old. And I don't know what is the reasonable expectations even for the expensive brand. Absolutly clear view every time, no matter what speed or weather? And can anybody provide some information about X-Rain? Is it noticebly better than regular stuff? Can you mix it with it?

I have the PIAA Super Sporza silicone wiper blades and they wipe the glass crystal clear. Nice item.

I have the PIAA blades and they do a very good job. If you can get the refills, they will fit the OEM blade. You can save yourself a few dollars unless you like to have the PIAA logo on the blade.

I got the Silblades around the summer of last year, and at first they work great. Now my Silblades streak like crazy. So no, I don't recommend them at all. I have the PIAA silicon wipers for my Ody, and they still work great. I recommend PIAA over Silblades any day.

I use rain x blades and rain x washer fluid. I find that combo to be best...never have vision problems even when it's raining and there's mud on the road.

I find that after cleaning it, it doesn't streak anymore until it gets dirty again.

Are u sure about this? Or will the blades chatter with the OEM handles? BTW... these PIAA wiper blades look like they are more xpensive than the sil blades.. about 50 bux a pair!!

I've had my sillblades for maybe 2 years. Whatever you do, don't get the painted color (It'll peel in the long run). IMO, if it's dirty, no MATTER what brand of wipers you get, it'll streak. My sillblades streak the first couple of wipes, but once all the dirt has been washed away, it'll wipe like new OEMs.

Just make sure you get silicone, since it'll last 5x longer than rubber.

I cleaned my Silblade wipers, and it still streaks.

I heard Rain-X is like crack. Once you put it on, you're going to have to keep putting it on to keep the windshield from smearing and fogging and hazing.

NYDesi80,

I know the the PIAA refill would fit the OEM blade because I slid it off the PIAA blade and put it on the OEM blade and it fit.

I don't why the blade would cause the wiper to chatter

The blades look similiar to me.
