Side airbag off???

Side airbag off???

Hello everyone i am new to the board , I have an 2002 TL-S
and i was wondering why my side airbag light sometimes comes on and then goes off? I have only 654 miles on it

This only happens when my passenger is not sitting correctly. The airbag shuts off because if a person is not positions correctly, the airbag will do more harm then good. GOOD LUCK

well it will do that if you have something light on your seat, or if somone is moving around in the seat. Its suppose to be if a child is in the seat then it turns off the air bag, i think.

Happens alot when my g/f moves around in her seat (like leaning over). If it detects something light on the seat, you'll get it. The airbags will deploy though. Shoudl be info in the owners manual.

My 14 y.o. son is always moving around in the seat and the airbag light frequently turns on and off......ughhg. He leans this way and that way and I keep getting the indicator to light up.

I will just have to cement him into the perfect position for each car ride.
