While driving, the side airbag check light keeps coming on & staying on for about 3-4 min. Anybody else have that problem? If so, how was it corrected?

If the passenger sitting next to you is really small (light) or the person in the passenger seat is not sitting properly or not leaning his back onto the back support or leaning towards the door, the light will go off meaning that in the case of an accident during these times, the side airbag will not go off, so as to minimize injury caused by the side airbag when someone is not sitting properly, thus when the light goes off, tell your damn passenger to sit straight up on the seat...its normal...

 

Sinned, hit it right in the nose. 100% correct.

 

Also if you put something in the seat, i.e., purse, breifcase, laptop, etc., it will register it as a person to light for the front seat and the light comes on...

Yup, a bag on the front seat will do it... even a heavy coat has caused my darn light to come on...real sensitive passenger seat
