If it happened while there was no occupant in the passenger seat, then the sensor is malfunctioning.
But if it only happened when somebody was sitting there, leaning to the right, then it's nothing to worry about. It's just a safety measure, making sure that the side air bag won't go off when the passenger is leaning in its deployment path. Talk about a hell of an airbag burn!
