Should I wait for 2004?
Hi, to all. I am looking to purchase a TL-S in a couple of months. I just wanted to know if I should wait the extra time to get the 2004. Do any of you know exactly when the 2004 will come out? Any replies are greatly appreciated. Also I was considering the IS300 any reasons I should get the IS over the TL-S. Thanks in advance. This is my current ride

That's a tough question, but it's basically up to you. If I new the new model comes out in less than a year, I might just wait. It's up to you.
As far as any news on the 2004 TL, Honda seams tight lipped about the details. Aside from the rumors that it could be rear wheel drive, I don't know. They may use the chassis of the new RL instead of the Accord.
Try a search for 2004 or something like that. It's been discussed quite a bit.
BTW, man......how much does your system weigh? Your ass is visually low in your pic.

Cars are always going to get better every year no matter what. If you need to have the latest and greatest then wait a year. Just keep in mind that they were extremely tight on info on the '02. The first real pics we saw were from the auto shows in January '01 and then the car came out in March '01.
Maybe you would want to consider a 2 year lease on an '03. A lot of people recommend not buying the first year of a car redesign so they can get the bugs out.
Another thing to keep in mind. The 99 came out as a redesign, the very next year they went from a 4 speed to a 5 and from hard drive navi to DVD navi. So that says that Acura doesn't always wait for reskinning to make a major advancement in the platform.

Does anyone know how much a 2 yr lease would be? Also I was thinking that they are flooding the market with TL's so is that going to effect the residual value? When I went to look at the TLS a coulpe of months ago the residual was 60% after three years!! Unheard of!!

If the '04 is a totally redesigned car, then it may not be out in March like the last two years. So, your wait may be longer.
Why are you looking at replacing the Gallant with a TL? Size? If so, then I don't think you would be happy with the IS. But, if you don't need the car the size of a TL, a '02 IS would be a fun car. Especially if you like to modify them.

If I was you, I wouldn't wait. The 2004 might be ugly or better looking, it might be more expensive or cheaper. You never know....
Someone said it here before, next year cars seem to be better. So when you are ready to buy the 2004 model, the 2005 model might be even better!
Oh and get the TL-S, you can mod it also, just don't lower it in SI (all the damn potholes)
