Should I sell the beater car?
Hey guys,
Gotta bit of a dilemna. I drive my TL(03 type s - 66k) alot more than I thought I was when I first bought it about six months ago. My old car(97 civic) has 161k miles on it, and while it still runs fairly well, needs some work. A friend of mine offered me 2500 for it, which I feel is a fair price.
My daily commute is only about 10 miles each way to/from work, and my insurance wouldnt really drop much from having 1 car vs. 2. I dont have a garage, so I have both parked outside.
What would you guys do?

well do you drive the civic much. is the civic important. if you dont drive it and no one else drives it then sell it if you drive it then keep it. do you have any need for it at all?

2500 for the civic sounds pretty cheap...i was gonna suggest selling the civic for like 4 or 5 and buying a cheaper car for around 2500
so i guess that if you really need a beater commuter car just keep the beater and put work into it (what kinda work BTW).....i wanna get a 90-93 accord for a beater...i had one back in the day and those things are perfect beaters

the work that needs to be done:
back brakes, not just pads
tune up
minor cosmetic work(dent in back door passenger side, back door driver side wont open)
I honestly dont need it, but I was keeping a beater because I didnt want to get 100k miles on my Ac so soon.
I feel 67k on an 03 is high, isnt it?
