Should I get the intake?

Hi ppl,

just wondering, for those who have changed their intakes, does it feel a lot difference on performance? and will it be very noisy in some sense? I am thinking getting the intake but my gf is saying "veto" 'coz my friend's accord became really noisy after he changed the intake....

how do you define noisy? i personally like the throatier sound at wide open throttle. if you have the windows up its not even noticeable at normal driving...

the power is noticeable with the cold air intakes upon take-off...much more noticeable torque steer...

is your gf gonna dump you if you get it? many women and souped up cars don't mix...next thing you know you'll be running with teddy bear wheels and stupid floating dogheads on your interior rear deck... and if you're asian don't forget the lace-covered tissue box that will inevitably get thrown off upon braking...

Is she helping you make the payments? Until you're married, how can she veto what you want to do with YOUR car?

Even being married, I know my wife wouldn't stand in the way of me making mods, provided that I'm being financially responsible. Hell she's a bigger leadfoot than me, if it made the car faster she'd be all for it.

i have the AEM cold air intake...

i don't know what's up with asians and their automotive interior decorating...my mom's E-class has a tissue box with a cover for every season... but there are those people who have the need to stuff their cars with beanie babies and assorted stuff animals on their rear deck...i have no idea how they can see through the rear view mirror...

ok, if you floor your car a lot and run past 4500 rpm's, yes it is pretty damn loud even with the windows closed.

If you drive nice and don't do what I mentioned, you'll be fine.

get it~!!

u should get the intake!! if u plan on modding ur car, intake is a great addition. i dont have one yet, but i plan on gettin one soon...b4 i do any mods i do a lot of research to make sure its worth it. for like $200 u get a lil bit more horsepower, better gas mileage (or so i heard), and a sweet sounding engine (only at high RPMs, otherwise its normal). and a lot of ppl have this mod too, so yano if everyones got it, it has to be hot.

and not ALL asian ppl have those kinda decorations. hehe, all i got is a lil Mashi-maro on the corner of my dash....ya gotta have some kinda mascot for ur ride.

as for the g/f issue, i dunno wut to tell ya hehe. my girl likes my mods. she got me 2002 taillights for xmas, and she wants to get me CAI for valentines. guess i lucked out

From one Asian to another - get the intake!

I didn't want mine to sound annoying or buzzy either like alot of other Japanese cars I've heard. But, the second I heard it, I was very happy. I'm definitely happy with the intake, but you should try to hear it for yourself. I don't think you'll regret it - and your girlfriend just might like it too!

hmm... ok... after all these postive commends about air intake.. I think I'll get one during the summer...
and I don't think my gf will dislike if it works the way u guys describe it... both she and I hated the "noisy" sound from 1000 RPM....

how do i define "noisy"? I think it's not hard to distinguish "noise" and "roar"....

So, which brand of intake do u guys recommend?

I don't really care about the look... but I want the one that has the "roar" that everyone was talking about at high RPM.... and still have the quiet and comfort at low RPM...

Let the gf find that she can rule you and you'll be miserable for life! Get the intake as it's good for some horsepower and sounds great when you hit VTEC, otherwise you won't hear it. My wife started that s*** and now I don't say anything - I come home with a new car when I feel like it. I work hard and that is my reward to me. Guess who stopped nagging me?
