I would. Protect your tranny and suspension while you can. If your tranny goes, might as well finance a new car. JMO

I thought the tranny is already covered under the new extended warranty...

agreed, if the tranny is already covered under the 7 year extension, no need to purchase the other warranty. the only major issue seems to be the tranny.

any idea if those guys that did purchase the 7 year warranty will get a refund now? would make sense since acura has acknowledged the tranny problem.

I'm sure that the extended warranty that I bought doesn't just cover the transmission so I doubt there would be a refund. Acura only extended the warranty on the transmission and I think that's only if you got one of those letters in the mail or check on the owners link at Acura's website

What about other things that might go wrong? New water pump installation can be expensive, for example. My loose driver's seat would be a paid expense out of my pocket if it happens out of warranty, which will happen for me in about another 1.5 years at my current rate of usage (13 months...almost 22k miles). An extended tranny warranty won't cover those items. I'm planning on buying an extended warranty when I'm closer to 50k, as I hope to keep the car long past that...tranny willing.

I got a 6 year 100K warranty for $875.00

Why? Because I put 23K on the car a year and did not want a 2 year old car out of warranty. I had some problems with a Vigor that made me wish I was still covered. It depends on you and how much you drive. If I drove 12K a year, I never would have done it.

IMHO it's better to have the warranty and not need it rather than not having it and finding out later that you do need it.

Also, it can't hurt the resale value...

I got a warranty because of the NAV system and other electronics. Those are a major pain when they have problems.

I found that www.warrantygold.com had the best coverage at the best price. Check them out. If you are going to buy, they negotiate the most at the end of the month. They took about $150 off as I recall.

And PS- If you do - mention contract WG 108726 and they might send me a referral bonus When I bought I had them send Tommyboy $50- its just good karma.....and makes your TL go faster.
