shocks install place needed MD/NOVA chime in

i went to a few shops around College Park today. first off they had never done adjustable shocks before so they were sitting there trying to figure out how the stiffness selector worked. finally i get price quotes of 360 and 340 respectively from two local shops. now im not to familiar with shock install but i find it hard to believe that labor costs almost as much as the parts. so those who have had the job done could you point me to the place please. thanks in advance

that's too much period... i odnt know any places over there, but just wanted to say that is too much.

my mech, (who does the work by himself), charges 50$ per wheel.. so 200$.. that's the most expensive i've heard.

then i called aorund in some other parts of Lowell(where i am) and boston and they said around 150-200... so anything above 200 would be a ripp!..

When I use to live in MD Rick at Rosenthal Acura in Gaithersberg, MD did all of my mods (headers, h&R springs, Crossed drilled slotted rotors). He does the work at the dealership usually after 5pm, he is a super nice guy and knows his stuff. His labor rate is crazy cheap. He has been a Acura mechanic at Rosenthal for like 15 years so you know he will do excellent work. I referred a couple of other guys from the acura board to him and they were very satisfied. I may still have his cell number in my old phone, I will look for it for ya...

Rick's done ALL the work on my car.

I spoke with him over the weekend and he had a series of heart attacks last week. He won't be at work for at least a month. I know a lot of folks in the DC/MC/VA area know, use and trust him and I wish him a speedy recovery.

Yeah Rick is the man.. He does good work for a fair price. If you cant wait, you may want to try clubrsx and look for a user named imod. I did not go through him but people on that board say he does good work as well.

ya, i called and left a message. hopefully, he can give me a call back in a month or so. with that said, since you've had all your work done by him, how much does he ROUGHLY charge? i believe dealers charge about 90 per hour. I just want to do a tranny oil change for now. the dealer in va wants 200 for a flush. fuck that! haha. and no, its not a DIY cuz im mostly busy and pressed for time.

thanks!

I don't know his labor rate per say, but I know he did a tranny flush and an oil change for $70. He charges (for me at least) more by the job then by the time involved.

I recommend that guy HIGHLY! Just do me a favor and don't waste his time asking him 800 questions and if you schedule an apointment show up on time or call! He does TONS of work and is extremely experienced.

The problem with suspension installs on these cars is you need to remove the rear seat to access the strut mounts on the rear suspension. Makes the work a little more involved.

So, I finally called the number for Rick. Is this guy spanish? I mean, he couldnt seem to understand a lick of what I was saying. He couldnt even respond to 'Is this Rick.' He kept going 'I call you back, I call you back.'

Noooo, he is not spanish. Maybe the cell number I sent you guys was old
Try calling the dealership and asking for him, I had to do that a couple of times because he said he does not always here his cell phone ring in the shop (shop noise).

Hey guys, hit me up through the site if you need to get those put on. I stay pretty booked up but like others have said i have a lot of experience modding Honda/Acura cars and my labor rates are a steal compared to most shop rates.

Thanks
D.
