Shipping my car from Cali to Hawaii?? HELP!
I need help regarding shipping. How do I ship my car from Cali (Port of Long Beach) to Hawaii? Yeah, I am moving there for school soon and I don't want to sell my baby. I just want to make sure that I will be able to ship the car without any damages. Since it's lowered, how will that effect the shipping process? Kind of scared that it might not fit the darn thing. Anyone in Hawaii had to ever ship your lowered car? Help!! Need any info, web site, cost and anything! I appreciate it.
P.S.: Shipping from Port of Long Beach to Oahu, Hawaii.

chea7,
THe best shipping line to use is Matson. They do all the cars for Chrysler and all the rental companies. They also handle all the exotics and all the military vehicles. They can give you the requirments on what ground clearance you need. I know a guy that just had his ERA Cobra sent over by Matson. I work on Matson ships every time they come to LA and they take good care of the cars. They do not play around with the cars and do not hot rod them. I am on vacation right now but I am sure if you look them up on the internet or phone book you can find their number for getting cars shipped over.

thanks
Thanks for you all for the info. Yeah, I think I'll give them a call. I think it's about $1k. There goes another unnecessary money, but I rather spend that money than selling the car that I have had for so long. Anywho, thanks again

Do a search for barge lines. When you find some check out their reputations. Better buisness bureau ect. Then take out some insurance, which would be very cheap for a one time journey. You can check out all this info in the comfort of your home via your computer. Up here in seattle we have a company called Tote, I hear they are good. Goodluck.
