Question shiftlock release noise...

Went through the search on this and came up empty handed...

Yesterday in the a.m. I get in the ride, do a systems check and when I press on the brake pedal, I hear a distinct noise in the shifter area ( a sort of knock or a tap). I realize that this is the shiftlock release mecanisim that is activated/deactivated by depressing the brake pedal, I had not heard it ever before in 14,000 miles, however.

today I did not hear it either.... but I was not listening for it and was in sort of a hurry...

If it happens again..... i'm contacting m'dealer.

The dealer? but that is such a normal behavior. Who knows, my only guess is that you were on an incline...but I hear mine all the time (if i listen for it).

maybe i just have never listened for it before, or it could have been an unusually quiet morning (although most are) this incident was loud, however, and it caught my attention. But you most likely are right... normal behavior and i'll dismissit as such.
