shifter tab

Anyone know what the little tab to the right of the shifter is for and where I could find a replacement? Tried looking it up but didn't find any info.

the oval hole? that's a shift release, to put it into gear without a key

Ah, well the cover is missing on mine. Do you know if it's sold at all as a replacement part?
