From: Miami - just one day, I would like to drive without getting cut off!

Shift plate

If I try to buy a shift plate for a '99 will it fit on my '02 TL-S? And will I be able to remove the paint for the "chromed" look?

Nope, won't fit.

99 TL was a 4 speed tranny.
00/01/02/03 is 5 speed tranny.

It will fit you just cant use ss. I sld my 99 shift plate to INSPIRE and it fits his fineexcept for using ss mode.
