Lightbulb Shift knob change?

Has anyone given any thought to changing the shifter? I was wondering if it was a standard thread pattern or is the shaft thinner than standard?

I changed mine to a momo knob meant for a regular old stick shifts without a problem, just unscrew the factory knob counterclockwise. The momo knob comes with rubber sleaves of various sizes for different shifters. One of the sleeves was a perfect match for our shifter so I just it on with the knob on on top of it, and tightened down the screws.
