Shift Gate Bezel 02 TL-S

My shift gate on my TL has lost alot of paint off of it. So half of it is still the original color while it has faded into something nasty.
I don't know if the guy before wiped it with something he shouldn't have but does anyone have an idea for me to save this shift gate? Or should I just buy another one. $70.00 hurts for that little thing.
