Set of unfortunate events for a new TL owner

First off i would like to introduce my self, my name is Husain I live in the Chicagoland area i am new to TL's but not new to Honda/Acura. Ive owned Hondas my whole life currently drive a 06 Accord v6 auto, my family has all hondas and acuras tsx, civic, accord, etc love hondas and always will. So heres my story I purchased a 03 Tl type s w/ navi with 119k from a car salesman from my work and im driving it home drove perfectly fine when i test drove it he said hes had no issues for the 3 years hes owned it. It being just my luck the cv axle breaks at a red light after driving less than 5 miles. I had the car towed to our mechanic and just waiting on the oem parts from delray. I will post pics up asap.

That sucks, and is unfortunate. Hopefully ownership gets better after this. Knock on wood...knock knock.

Nice enough car, but to have it break 5 miles after buying it.......?
I think that anyone who had responsible driven the car during the previous three years would've noticed something abnormal !!!!

IMO, the guy owes ya ....cv axles normally last longer than 119k and don't just break within 5 miles due to bad luck !!!!!

A broken axle isn't a big deal man. Could have been the transmission.

Yah dont sweat it Dude! AXLEs are easy to replace and not THAT Expensive! I was waiting to read: "Drove it 5 Min, Trans would not shift into 2nd" that would have been way wayyyy worse.

At least you get full body kit and a great spoiler replacement! other goodies inside?

It has the black leather, with the navi, and bose system. Thinking of possibly downloading my own navi update, anyone have any success with this method rather than buying a navi disc from the dealer? Im thinking of getting it tuned up while its in the shop the timing belt and water pump was done at approx 95k by the 2nd owner. According to the guy i bought the car from the owner before him was a real stickler and had everything maintained at the dealer. Carfax reads that the tranny was replaced at the dealer around 65k miles

Looks like the OEM lip kit. If it is, you are lucky. Good thing you know about the timing belt being done. Just had to get mine done bc my tensioner was about to break. I got very lucky it was making an annoying sound at 2000 rpms so I knew something was wrong. WELCOME TO AZINE!

Hahaha yeah we do drive pretty hard around here esp in the city. Ive been known to have a heavy foot. Im glad the timing belt was done, i have yet to do it on my 7th gen Accord. UPDATE ON CAR The CV axle is finally arriving monday (today) should hopefully be getting the car back today if all goes well also thinking of replacing the spark plugs with NGK Iridium lx.

Nice Accord "EX". It should serve ya well being an '06 model. Their tranny's were considerably improved over the '03>'05 Accords. Many 'Ziners presently use the '06>'07 tranny from the Accord V-6 for replacing their failing 2nd gen TL's tranny.

The body styling reminds me somewhat of my old '95 Accord. At least ya don't have the "Buick" styled tail-lights like the '03, ha, hah !
