just touch the time in the right corner and it will switch to the center of the screen. And when you want to change it back touch the empty box in the right corner again.

I take it that is only for 2000+ models only.

This has to be done with Map screen off.
You can go to the set-up box & turn the display off.
This is only for 2000 + models.

Touch the following buttons

Setup -> Others-> Clock

From here you can just touch the time zone you're in and the clock will set itself (must get it from satellite). Or, you can use the Hour +/- Minute +/- and adjust manually.

I'm in the eastern time zone and the system doesn't account for daylight savings time, so I just hit Eastern and then hour+ once the advance the hour 1.

Voila!

Ooops... I re-read your message and figured out what you were really talking about.

I tried it - that's pretty cool. I didn't know it did that!

Here's how you do it. Touch Setup, then set the brightness to "Off". This will bring up the starfield display. Then touch the little time display in the lower right hand corner; this will bring the clock display to the middle of the starfield.
