Sellin the TL for a S2000

Im thinking of selling the TL for an S2000. Test drove the new 2002 Suzuka Blue S2000 yesterday, and it makes me wonder why im trying to make a driving car out of the TL. I should get a S2000 and make that into a driving car. Anyways....does anybody know where I can get reviews on the car?

What about suggestions on a convertible in the same $$$ range?

You may already know of this site, but :

http://www.s2ki.com/

As far as another car in the same range, I have no suggestions. I think you're thinking right with the s2000

I Love my TL, but to me, the hottest looking car out there is the S2000. I drool everytime I see one.

My problem is a wife and two kids. I need the room of the TL. But if I was single or childless, I'd have the S2000 in a heartbeat. I think if you don't need the room, you couldn't get a more exciting car than the S2000. Good luck.

i dont know why but for some reason i dont like the S2000 I absolutely loved them when they first came out but then i started seeing them everywhere. But i love the power and that it is a reliable car. but its your choice and you should drive whatever you like to drive and whatever it is that you like to sport.

Without doing a lot of research, I don't think so. You have the reliability of Honda, along with a very reasonably priced two-seater that is quite frankly, hotter looking than Porsche, Beemer, Lexus, MB etc etc etc. In the reviews I read about it when it first came out, everyone really liked it.

The only complaint I remember was it took something like 9000 rpm's to get the 245 horses to kick in, so it was a little tough in city driving, but otherwise they really liked it. And pricewise, compared to those others mentioned above, it is no contest, the S2000 is easily the most affordable.

I got the impression that the s2000 would be a great weekend car or a great track car but not that great as a everyday car. I think that you need both!

Not too sure about the price, but I think right now the only thing comparable is a 350Z, which of course isn't available yet and isn't a convertible (maybe in '04, according to rumors).
Performance wise I wouldn't doubt to be similar (or even better?), and of course, the 3.5L V6 will pump out more low end torque.

Lucky lad that I am, my wife and I have one of each!

Over the road travel or carrying passengers is definitely better in the TL, but is not capable of putting a big grin on your face like the S2000.

The MSRP of the S2000 is $32,400 - $32,400, however dealer markup is unfortunately prevalent depending on your area.

The SC430 is SLOWER than the S2000. The fastest time I have seen for the 1/4 mile for the SC430 is 14.4, and 13.8 respectively for the S2000. BTW, the MSRP of the SC430 is $61,055 - $61,055.

The S2000 is PIMP period. I would get one in a heartbeat.

The S2000 does have torque, just in the rpm bandwidth you need it to start out. It's not stop light race car! It takes alot of time to get to know the car and its characteristics. It's definitely not like jumping into a Mustang and flooring it!
I love my car and it's really fun!
Just beware when putting bigger wheels/tires on, it will take an acceleration performance loss. The best all around setup is 17" with similar to stock offsets (good luck find wheels though).
Good luck!

Don't know if this is true but I heard of rumors about the S2K engine not being able to support big power since it's already putting out what, 230-240 horses stock out of a 4-cylinder engine?

Not trying to scare you djkojione, cause' I would buy a S2K in a heartbeat. hehehe. This is just a rumor I heard, so IMO

GET THE S2K

im not saying that teh S2000 isnt pimp. all im sayin is that its a little too hyped up. i see way too many of them in my area and so now i don;t think that they are as special

the onyl thing i dont liek about the SC is that its not stick, if it was it would dominate over teh S2000. they didnt even bother with tiptronics but there is a mode in which it almost redlines when you floor it. I was wondering if that quarter mile was with that mode.

Hello, why the hell are we comparing the SC430 and s2000.? They're not even in the same class. The SC430 is an overweight luxury coupe which handles like utter dog ish compared to the s2k. and who really cares about straight line time anyway. The s2k would take a massive dump on the sc430 in a track any day of the week. The guy implied that he wanted a more sporty car than the TL, not a SC430.

I hear ya deandorsey.
It was hard to adjust coming from a nicely loaded TL to the very simple roadster! I was going to remorse and regret after the first couple of month after I bought my S2000 too, but I don't anymore. The TL and the S2000 are opposites in almost every way! Down to ones analog guage and the other is digital. You just have to WANT a true sports car that can grow on you. The S is a very challanging car to drive and I love it (just tough to find decent wheels that really fit the car well. )!

The S stinks as an everyday car. As it was I managed to only keep mine for about a year and a half as I was only able to rack up about 5k miles during that time.
