Post Seatbelt wear?

I hate to complain about something so trivial... but it bugs me when I look at my seatbelt... driver's side, where the buckle rests when its not in use, the belt is chewed up and frayed along the edges. I mean, I've only had the car 2 months or I wouldn't complain!

Ok, don't mind me.

That's "normal" on frabic like that. Maybe if you don't use the seatbelt it would be in perfect shape...just joking. Any pics?

Always put a seatbelt on.

Happy TLing.

I wear my seatbelt ever time I get into the car and my car is 1 year old +. I have no wear at all on the belts, if I were you I'd ask the dealer about it. It doesn't sound normal to me.

Wow! Maybe it's covered under warranty. I wear my seatbelt everytime I get into my 97 TL, and they still look brand spankin' new.

It should be covered under warranty. My seatbelt if perfect, after almost 2 years use. I use it every time i get in the car..

Nate,

I have the same problem but I have a 99TL and it sucks. Mine doesn't even retract all the way sometimes. I heard that seat belts are under warranty for life of the car. If that is true I am taking mine back right now. Oh by the way how do you guys get those cool Icons (smoking gun) next to your posts.

That much wear after 2 months does sound excessive.

Hey thats a good idea... making them fix it under warranty. It is overly worn for 2 months of use... I mean, I buckle it and drive, just like any normal person... if you guys don't have this problem I'll make Acura fix it for sure!

It will be covered under warranty, and if the belt doesn't wind back very well, you can get them retentioned.
