Question search didnt help

Yes im new to the acura scene as i just bought my 2000 TL it has the stock Bose system --- i have stereo controls on the steering wheel-- i need to transfer my stereo equipment to it i have a jl 500/1 amp scosch capaciter and a 12"w6v2,
i would just get a new h.u but as i have no use of my right arm i need my steering contros. ive heard of an adapter???? please help im newbie pleading there has to be a stereo guru around here somewhere.

Not sure if that's been done before. You would have to hack into the new head unit and route the steering wheel controls wires to the appropriate wires in the HU.

Your best bet is to go to a local audio shop. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but good luck. And welcome to the forum.

got hit in iraq with roadside bomb -- no auxillery audio adapter made? so... bottom line i need a new h.u. with splicing wires with steering controls?/?..

there are adapters out there to control aftermarket HU's Check with your local stereo install shop, they can set you up with the right one for your HU

well i tried thx for the supports peeps ill take it down here to Audio Junction Maybe theyll discount all the work for me --i dont get the same paycheck anymore. thnkx anyways ..any other suggegtions are welcome .

Some Headunits have the steering wheel control addons. I got a headunit that uses a wireless remote via infrared which allows me to use this PAC SWI-X Steering Wheel Interface. basically you can program all 3 buttons to the wireless remote and even make your own buttons I believe. So pushing the buttons on the steering wheel control will be like as if you were using the wireless infrared remote. there are a few models of headunits of infrared it doesnt work for but it does work for majority.

local shop says -- keep bose radio for clean look --59.95 for adapter to amp 169.99 for all installed -- 40 for amp rack-- + tax --sound right or am i on the wrong track?"

i kept my stock BOSE head unit and added a JL amp, 2 Alpine Type-S 12"s, and an extra Sony 10-disc changer in the trunk. also got the switch in the dash in case of cops lovin it

did you DIY or what -- what do i need to connect my JL500/1 to the stock bose?hu
does the bose have the audio outputs --what am i missing? I'm (trying) to build the amp rack myself also input needed on that plz thx again for continued suggestions and support.

you need a line converter to convert the speaker wires into RCA's (no the BLOZ hu doesnt have any way to conect otherwise), you need to run a power wire from battery to the trunk, and you need a good ground and remote turn on

is that the 59.95 part hes(the installer) talking about or is that the 29.99 bass control knob?(hi-low converter?)---(line converterr?)
