Seams
I have a 03 ssm tl-s and I noticed that the seam sealer that the factory used looks like crap and does not come clean. It's around the inside of all the doors, trunk and I think the hood also. Anyone else notice this or know what I can do?

oh you mean that rubber like shit painted silver? (at least ssm for me).....the paint is almost coming off those things...the edges of the metal suck, and i've got dust in my paint UNDER the clearcoat.....in many places.......just shit like that.....i prolly could've made a fuss about it when i took delivery, but it didn't matter that much.....

Sorry for your confusion. I think The others that have some car knowledge knew what I was talking about. All cars have seams where two panels are joined together. In cars constructed of metal such as my TL, these seams are welded together. These include the inner and outer door, hood, and trunk skins and the rear quarter panels. The factory and body shops that have done a repair to the area use what is called seam-sealer to further bond the panels together and seal out moisture, wind noise, etc. and cover the welds. This is all done prior to painting on the Acura and as a result the seam-sealer comes painted in your factory color. Seam-sealer is pretty much like caulk and is still somewhat soft. If I press on it with my fingernail, it will leave a depression.
So, with that all said my problem is that my paint covered seam-sealer is looking like crap. It has turned dark grey in color and nothing seems to get it clean. It bothers me every time I open the doors or the trunk and I have to look at this crap. And I really don't think there is much I can do about it short of re-painting it. What do you guys think?? Do you think the dealer will correct under warranty??
