seafoam

hi, i seafoamed my car today and ive done this before but something different came up today. so i used about a 1/3 of can of seafoam and sipped it slowly through the brake booster. after i was done with sipping the seafoam, i turned off the car and a knocking noise came from the engine. this didnt happen the last time i seafoamed it. when i turned on the car, the engine started right up without any hesitation. so what made this knocking noise and should i be concerned about this? my car still runs fine and all, its more smooth now even though it was already pretty smooth before.

you need to read the seafoam diy again--the one that says `for 03` in the title is the newest with good pics of correct port

we do NOT use the brake booster line!!!!!

DO USE the master vac port at TB to manifold for feeding all the manifold and cylinders

try it again the right way for max results for your money
dont forget the TB air plate needs cleaning too

the knocking is the fuel/seafoam mix near 50/50,,the engine wont run on less, can make bad noises...

yea i just looked at the seafoam diy 03 and turns out i did use the correct hose. guess i got my hoses mixed up. i have already put 1/3 in my crankcase and gas tank last month so im good with those for the time being. i seafoamed the engine today because at the time i did the crankcase and gas tank, i felt that i didn't need to do the engine yet.
i also do need to check to see how dirty my tb plate is.

once you add seafoam to oil/crankcase- you need to change the oil soon!!
100-200 miles drive is good
15 minutes is ok for those in a hurry- 30 minutes preferred
add,, drive around to warm oil,,drain

its a seperate job from the gas or vac port

1 can in just under half tank= 2 oz per gal fuel ,does awesome as cleaning doseage

oreillys(kragen) has it for 7.99 on sale now

read seafoams site www.seafoamsales.com for the `2000 rpm method`- blast crud out- makes lots of smoke~

that 1/3 can suggestion goes back 50 years when a gas tank was much smaller~

formula per seafoam: 2 oz per gal cleaning strength dose
1 oz per gal for midyear maitenance cleaning

yes but that is overkill if you ask me - I use it every 7 or 8000 miles when I change my oil. I clean my IM out 1 time per year in the spring along with running the seafoam through the TB vac line. of course the can will say use every 3000 miles but they want your money...
175000 miles and counting for my ride

once a year do 1 can to half tank/8 gallons

then mid-year, at oil change time/7500 miles, do 1 can to just under full tank
or
you can do 1 can to half tank again if you want- wont hurt to be super clean

oil= most like every other oil change 15kmiles

vac port once a year

noobs should repeat gas and vac a 2nd time after a month- then good for a year
