scratched up trunk
Just recently got a scratch on the trunk from an unknown random kid with a bike (??) I know I need touch-up paint but I was wondering if (1) there's anything else I can do and (2) will the touch-up paint make a difference?
thanx in advance!!

well it will make a difference, but will leave a big blob behind. What you should do is put the touch up paint on, let it dry for a couple hours, then apply this stuff to it: www.langka.com
what should do the trick for you!!!
take care.

you can fill the scratch with lots of thin smooth coats till its intirely filled, then get your self some 1500-2000 grit wetsand paper or if you can find them they make little sanding blocks for detailers in that grit. then wet sand the touch up area till all smooth. then get some thing to remove 1500+ grit sand scratches. (some like 3m swirl remover i like meguieres products) buff the area out and polish and wax. sounds really tough but any one can do it. and its not really that hard.

how bad is
the scratch - take it to a professional detailer - they should be able to get it out.
I have gotten out some bad ones off my roomate's truck (black paint) by hand with some 3M rubbing compound (clear coat safe)..and terry cloth so a detailer with some good tools should be able to make em go by by.
