Scratched up my bumper.

I backed my '02 TL into another car when parallel parking the other day. It wasn't a bad hit (no damage to the other car, which is good cause it was my GF's), but it put some moderate scratches on my rear bumper.

One of the scratches in particular would need some patching before being repainted. Can I use some kind of putty for this? The scratch isn't more than 2mm wide or deep, and is around 1/4" long.

I am facing the same situation ....
I have a couple of good scratches on my back bumper from parking in my garage. I cant really do anything now, being winter and all. But I have found a quick epoxy body filler available at CDN Tire stores. for about 15.00 ( I dont know if you are in the US or CDN), then get a spray can of paint at the dealer, the a quick clear coat.
I would imagine small work like this would cost a bundle at the dealer...

My bumper was hit and scratched. It cost me $150 to have it filled, sanded, and painted with white pearl. He even painted my M5 wing for my rear deck. My friend works as a mechanic at Toyota of Orange. He had their painter who is only there twice a week do it for me. However, the guy's assistant stole all of my quarters out of my ashtray (he left the pennies). So it really cost me about $155.

I looked for touch up paint for the white pearl everywhere and couldn't find it. All they had was the taffeta white.

Good luck, Happy New Year.

Thanks, I'll give that epoxy stuff a shot. I figured it would need a little sanding. Unfortunately, the paint guy I know who could do some of that cheaply is now out of town . I think I'll try the epoxy first, then see what kind of sanding needs to be done, and if I can do that myself.
