I'm an idiot. I scratched my own car (1 month old!). To put it into perspective, it's a horizontal 1 1/2" scratch, so it's not very big. It's on the rear trunk door, up near the top but not ON top of the trunk. Stupid volleyball net -- you know, the portable ones you can set up. Anyway, I nicked it while walking away from my car. It doesn't seem deep, but it's definitely a scratch. What shall I do? I'm worried about rust, and I haven't picked up touch-up paint yet.

I know I should get used to this at some point, but I'm just kicking myself that I'm the one who did it ...

If it's not a deep scratch

then use light rubbing compound and then use polish then just wax and you will be ok. These things could be found at any auto store. For compund use 3M polish and wax I like Meguiars.

Bummer dude. I'm an idiot because I decided to drive like a careless girl and scratched my front left WHEEL on a curb. It is scratched on like 4 spokes.
Is there any way I can try to fix that?

haha dang, i scratched mine too... stupid little wall was too high and i mowed my bumper into it, just the bottom part, not visible to the eye, but underneath its like SHAVED!!

 

i am also a victim of the rim scrape... all cuz i was doing a U -Turn and some biatch was parked right on the other side not giving me much room to move with... so i was almost done and my car was on the curb and landed on the road scrapin the rims... i was mad pissed =(

 

Welcome to the stock scratched rim club! I got used to my rims looking all scraped up with curb marks. I figure as long as I have the stock rims its just delaying the uber pimpness that the TL should be!!
I'm gonna get a rim without a huge lip so it doesn't do the same as the stock setup.

One time I pulled up to a friends apartment gate and scratched my front left tire right up against a painted red curb. When I got out of the car there was red paint crap on the stock rim
