Man, all you guys with tranny failures are scaring me everytime my tranny starts acting a little weird. I'm now noticing the slightest change in shifting. Lately, the car has been shifting at higher rpms, and I barely got the gas pressed. I only got 4800 miles on it - TLP. Yeah it's under warrenty and all, but that's just sh*t you dont want to go through. Tell me, is this the start??...should I have Acura's number handy and programmed into my cell phone??

 

Guess it's time for you to trade in your TL. If you can't trust your car or drive it confidently -- get rid of it!

But if you're just kidding around (I couldn't tell) then happy motoring!

Yeah, like vperkins2 Said, if you can't trust your car it's time to get a different one. But in all honesty, on really hot days the tranny acts like shlt, it's just natural. And the problems occur mostly in the type s models with more ponies.

 

I'm playin a lil...but still. Bigman - its constantly pushin 100 in DC ... hopefully that is the underlying cause. It's not a Type S, but its still an Acura, so you never know. And to both of you...I'm leasing...cant trade it in.

I would reccomend putting a tranny cooler on your TL. But since it's leased that might be a hassle. Find the thread near the bottom of this forum

 

get a transmission cooler and enjoy your car
