i have a 2001, still got warranty...only 23000 miles on it. I think the reason is because i just bought 18 inch rims and the tranny is not adapting to it...oh well..hope it'll be taken care of soon..i wonder if anyone else has had this problem soon after they bought new rims?

Different wheel/tire combinations have NOTHING to do with the tranny failure. I'm surprised to see that anyone would even think that way. Your 'mod' didnt have anything to do with the failure.
The tranny failure is caused by a defective 3rd gear clutch pack that eventually disintegrates and all the debris scatters throughout the insides of the tranny.

i just got my car back w/ new tranny. they said this one should have the new design. so i'm happy. it feels a whole lot better. i actually feel the car pull more. or it might've been that i drove an integra loaner for a week.
