Sandpaper?

Sandpaper?

I want to take off the chrome on the Acura logo on my trunk and the chrome on the grill and paint it black , what kind of sandpaper should i get? and how much of it should i buy?

i would buy a package of 120, 180, 220, and something along the lines of 320-400. Sand it REALLY good with each one.

You shouldn't have to take the chrome off to paint it. Get a scotchbrite pad and really rough up the surface. Then use a good quality plastic primer to make sure the paint bonds.

exactly you don't need to sand off the chrome just sand the surface of the emblem with some 800 grit to get all the embedded dirt off and put on some primer, paint, and clear coat. What I found works best are little paint can from the arts n craft store. I painted one candy apple red and it looked like an ionized red looked pretty koo.
