Salvage Title - Tranny Warranty
Weird question, but my girl is looking into a TL-S that was "REBUILT" (salvage title). I had the guys at my acura dealership check the car over and the original accident (strangely enough) doesn't seem to be that bad, and the rebuild was perfect. So the acura boys are giving the car their approval, but here is my question.
Our Tannies suck bad. Her warranty is void already b/c of the rebuild on the title. However, i know that some owners out there have had their trannies replaced out of warranty (100K+miles, etc). What are your thoughts on this matter? Will acura pony up and replace it if the tranny goes (car has 60k miles)? Thanks boyz...
PS - anyone have experience with rebuilds? It's crazy that the car would have been salavaged just because a little side-swipe. She's getting a crazy deal...

ASSEMBLED TO PERFECTION

Nope, buddy of mine from this forum try to replace his around 30 something and they wouldn't touch it because of his salvage title. Unless your willing to cough out a few grand when the tranny goes bad, dont buy it.

This same question has been asked several times before. The answer is no. However, if it were my car, I would still try and get Acura to replace it. Just don't be surprised if they refuse.
