Said goodbye to the '03 TL-S

Wanted to thank you guys for the help whenever I needed it. The transmission started doing the be-bopping and scatting pre-seize dance. Wasn't throwing codes, so I offloaded it for a brand new Yaris. Hello 41 mpg!

I don't blame you for getting rid of the TL-S because of the trans issue, but a YARIS??? I would never be able to downgrade like that. At least a 4cyl Accord, Civic.

Did you check into a warranty replacement for the transmission?

Even if it wasn't covered by the 109,000 mile extended warranty on the transmission, Acura has offered partial and even full coverage to some 2003 TL owners as a goodwill gesture.

I just had my tranny replaced in my 03 TL-S I thought about trading it in but only for a 07-08 TLS or a newer BMW/MERC.

I would rather walk or take the bus before I'd get in a Yaris!

Why not keep it in the fam and get a TSX or RSX??

Was the TL paid for? I'll bet the cost of the transmission even at full cost with no help from Acura is cheaper than a new Yaris.

no matter what mileage the yaris gets, i would never down grade to a car (if u can call it that) like that. a civic would be better than that. if it was me i would get the new accord coupe (v6 only for me)

so how much did you get for the TL?
and unless you plan on dropping a k24 in that yaris; you made a very strange decision...

Wow...that was indeed a strange choice.

Usually people opt for a BMW, Infiniti, something...but a Yaris!

No offense...but I really dislike the way they look.

Too bad they can't think to make eco friendly cars attractive.

damn, this is one hell of a strange choice, I would have gone for a Versa from Nissan at least. But hey, if it's what you want then good for you.

^ Well...not sure if it was a type S.

It had an "S" badge on the back (Like I've seen Corollas have)...that's all I know and I feel too lazy to research the Yaris.

Well...If he has been a member since 10/07 and only has 13 posts...I have to think he doesn't log on very often.

But posting that you dumped your TL for a Yaris and walking away is not a good thread idea...you can't defend yourself then.
